Frederick Henry Boden 71 of Cotuit and North Truro died peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by his family on Friday March 11, 2011. He was the husband of Candice Collens-Boden of North Truro. Born in Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Victor H. and Marjorie Berry (Dexheimer). He spent every summer in Cotuit where he sailed and built boats. He moved there full time after graduating from Wentworth Institute in Boston. Fred went from building small sailboats to building houses in the Cotuit and Centerville area. Given his love of the sea, he became Captain of his own boats and served on the Figawi Club Board of Directors for 20 years. He always looked forward to Friday nights at Baxter's Restaurant where he would meet with his friends and share tall tales of the sea. When his health became more of a challenge, he became a landlubber. He loved working in the yard. He also bought a corvette and joined the Cape Cod Corvette Club. He will be remembered as a fun loving guy who will be missed by his family and friends.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sister Marjorie Wanless of South Miami, FL, his four children, Geoffrey Boden of Atlanta, GA, Debra Boden of Pensacola, FL, Mike Boden of Sandwich, MA and Brittney Boden of Centerville, MA, 8 grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial service is being planned for a later date. In appreciation for the care that he received, memorial contributions in his honor may be sent to any of the following organizations who were so helpful to him during his illness, Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod at WWW.hospicecapecod.org,
