Obituary

Dorothy (Rose) Silva, 76, of New Bedford died March 16, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Albert "Smokey" Silva.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel and Ida (Pires) Rose, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Silva attended Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
She was formerly employed by several local textile mills for many years until her retirement.
Mrs. Silva enjoyed jazz music and watching the Boston RedSox.
Survivors include 2 sons, Albert "Stooch" Silva of New Bedford and Michael "Lucky" Silva of Miami, FL; a daughter, Jacqueline Silva McKinney of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Albert Rose, Anita Rose, Olga Monteiro, Mario Rose, Peter Rose, Manuel Rose, Joseph "Jo-Jo" Rose, Gloria Monteiro, Arnold Alves, and Lidwina "Louie" Lopes.
