Lucille Clements Howell, 85, of the Big Creek community, Irwin County, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, January 16, 2004, at Big Creek Baptist Church, Irwin County, Georgia, with Rev. Wayne McCrimmon and Rev. Billy Majors officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Howell was born February 9, 1918, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late Franklin and Sallie Gibbs Clements. She moved to Irwin County in 1937 from Wilcox County. A homemaker and farm wife, she was a former Dye Technician at Modern Fibers and a former employee of Weaver’s Peanut Company. Mrs. Howell was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Howell is survived by her husband: Earl S. Howell, Big Creek Community, Irwin County; one son and daughter-in-law: Stallings and Julia Howell, Powder Springs, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law: Nita and Randy Dill and Sherry and Jimmy Mobley, all of the Big Creek Community, Irwin County; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one sister: Marilyn Adams, Orlando, FL. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Wesley Howell, one brother and three sisters.
