Stella (Eliasz) Grzywacz, 89, of Manchester died peacefully at The Courville at Manchester on March 15, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
Stella was born in Manchester on July 30, 1921 to Jozef and Bronislawa (Lewandowski) Eliasz. In 1951 she married Stephen Grzywacz and they enjoyed 37 years together prior to his death in 1989.
She was a graduate of Straw School, Manchester Central High School and New Hampshire College of Accounting and Commerce (now Southern New Hampshire University).
She worked as an executive secretary at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester for over 30 years. She also worked for the federal government at Grenier Field as well as the VA Regional Office. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
A faithful parishioner of Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Polish National Catholic Church, Stella was an active member of the Senior Group and the Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament Society. She was also a member of the Manchester Women’s Club and Tow. Marja Konopnicka Society.
Stella was a devoted wife, mother and babcia who cherished the time she spent with her family. The light and love of her life were her grandchildren, Stephen and Megan. She also enjoyed volunteering and participating in Holy Trinity Cathedral activities and spending time with her many friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen J. Grzywacz and his wife, Shelley, and Thomas F. Grzywacz all of Manchester; two grandchildren, Stephen James Grzywacz and Megan Emily Grzywacz; and cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves her dear friend, Stella Russell.
A funeral mass was held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Cathedral, 166 Pearl St., Manchester. Bishop Thomas Gnat officiated. Committal prayers followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Goffstown Rd., Goffstown.
