TEWKSBURY - M. Charlene (Hatt) Collier, age 54, died peacefully Wednesday morning, March 16, at her Tewksbury residence, following a courageous four year battle with ovarian cancer. She was the beloved wife of David G. Collier, with whom she had celebrated a 36th wedding anniversary this past December 21st.
She was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, on July 7, 1956, a daughter of the late Horace H. and Gertrude (Smith) Hatt. She graduated from Salisbury Regional High School in New Brunswick, Canada. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1974, and settled in Tewksbury to raise her family.
She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and yard work, and was lovingly described as having devoted her life to her family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sharla Hennessey and her husband Dennis of Billerica, Amanda Harris and her husband Thomas of Tewksbury; two granddaughters, Sophia Hennessey and Olivia Mary Harris; a sister, Donna Ritchie and her husband James of N.B., Canada; two brothers, David Hatt and his wife Debbie, and Richard "Rick" Hatt and his wife Rejeanne all of N.B., Canada; her father and mother-in-law, Gerald and Norma (Steeves) Collier of Billerica; and many nieces and nephews.
She eagerly anticipated the arrival of her third grandchild, due this summer.
Relatives and friends will be received Saturday, March 19, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home. A prayer service will follow Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Following cremation, interment will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington. Kindly omit flowers.
