Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, N. Easton at 9 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 pm. Donations in Ernie’s memory may be made to the Old Colony Hospice, 14 Page Terr., Stoughton, MA 02072.
Obituary
Mr. Gammons died Wednesday at his home after a period of failing health. Born in Weymouth, son of the late William and Flora (Shearing) Gammons. Raised in Brockton and attended St. Patrick’s School. During WW II he left school to join the US Navy, he was a Radioman aboard the USS Huntington from 1944 to 1946. For over 50 years he was the owner of EF Gammons Heating and Air Conditioning. He enjoyed bowling at the Vega Club and also golfing. Longtime member of Easton Lions.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley A. (Nash) Gammons, two sons, Stephen W. Gammons and his wife Maryrose of W. Bridgewater and Michael E. Gammons and his wife Nancy of N. Easton, two daughters, Susan M. Gammons of N. Attleboro and Lynda A. Bukunt and her husband Jeffrey of Derry, NH., eight grandchildren, Jessica and Ellen Gammons; Kathryn and Christopher Gammons; Timothy and Lindsay Dube and Jeffrey and Kristen Bukunt, a sister, Geraldine Andrews of Bridgewater, a brother William Gammons of Bristol, RI. and many nieces and nephews.
