Obituary

Only a few days before his death on March 12th, Alan Lees, 55, was on his bi-annual Royal Caribbean vacation. This nautical wanderer enjoyed spending time cruising between the Caribbean Islands and other exotic places with his surviving wife, Beverly and his two sons Richard and James. Al often invited his friends and family on these blissful excursions. Sailing was in Al’s blood as second generation Navy veteran he put out to sea across the Pacific on the USS Leahy. On the USS Leahy Al learned operations and electronics that would provide a career in large scale computer repair for Tandem Computers of Cupertino, CA and data center operation management at SunGard Financial System, Burlington, MA.
Mr. Lees was the son of the late Ralph and Margaret Lees and brother of the late Richard Lees. Al was survived by his sister, Nancy Johnson and brother in-law James Johnson of Boston and their children Thomas Johnson of Thailand and Karen Larkowski of Cape Cod and her four sons. Al was a born in 1954 and was a lifelong resident of Methuen, MA. After graduating Methuen High School, Al joined the rock band Anthem in 1972 as their manager and performed on stage as a magician. Besides cruising, Al enjoyed cooking and playing cards. A celebration of life for friends and family will take place at the Granite State Baptist Church, 1 Sandhill Road, Salem, NH at 10AM on Saturday March 19th. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Al Lees name to Granite State Baptist Church to either charity of your choice: Korean Mission or Cancer Support Group.
