WORCESTER-Filiberto Cotto, 80, of Worcester, died Monday, March 14th in his home. He leaves his wife of 8 years, Gladys E. (Rodriguez) Cotto; three sons, Filiberto Cotto, Jr., and Luis and Wilfredo Cotto, all of Worcester; six daughters, Luz Haydee Cotto of Naguabo, Puerto Rico, Rosa M. Rodriguez of Nutley, NJ, Carmen L. Cotto of Worcester, Maria L. Rivera of Davenport, FL, Enereida Torres and Miriam Cotto, both of Worcester; three stepdaughters, Carmen Pena of Kissimmee, FL, Ada Egusqusa and Braulia Rosado both of Worcester; his brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico and Florida; 37 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. His son, Carmelo Cotto, died in 1998.
Mr. Cotto was born in Albonito, Puerto Rico, the son of Juan and Solidad (Baez) Cotto. He was a machine operator at Central Coating until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Cotto was a member of St. Paul’s Cathedral. He attended Estrella de Jacob with his wife.
The funeral is Friday, March 18th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Paul’s Cathedral, 38 High Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, March 17th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
