Obituary

Dr. Carlton B. Lehmkuhl, 83, of Marblehead, MA died Thursday, March 10, 2011.
He was born April 16, 1927 in Sioux City, IA.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Carl was passionate about boating. He served 35 years in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, achieving the rank of District Commodore. He was also active in the Auxiliary as a trainer and instructor.
He received his Ph. D. in Education Administation from the University of Minnesota and went on to teach at Boston College and Northeastern University, where he attained the position of Professor Emeritus in the College of Education.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nonna Lehmkuhl, 2 children, 4 stepchildren, 2 grandchildren and 9 stepgrandchildren.
There will be a prayer service on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the St. Xenia Russian Orthodox Church, 170 North Lowell Street, Methuen, MA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the church. A burial will take place following in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home Inc. 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. 01841.
