Obituary

Morris Levy Goff Jr., 67, of Albany died Friday, March 11, 2011, at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM at Kimbrell-Stern in Albany. Interment will follow at 3:30 PM at Springhill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 6 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.

Born May 2, 1943 in Tifton, GA, Mr. Goff graduated from Tifton High School in 1962 and Darton College. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict as a medical photographer at Fitz Simmons General Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. He also worked as a medical photographer at Emory University before moving to Albany where he was a professional Photographer. Mr. Goff worked at Miller Brewery where he retired in July of 2005.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tifton and was a member of the Albany Cruisers. Mr. Goff loved to play golf, photography and riding motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his parents Levy and Becky Goff and his sister June Goff.

Survivors include his wife Maxie Payne Goff of Albany, formerly of Irwin County; a daughter Marti Yelverton and her husband Mike of Albany; a son Walter Goff and his wife Heather of Douglas, GA; four grandchildren Devon Yelverton, Jackson Eubanks, Ramsey Goff and Ryleigh Goff; two sisters Sylvia Dixon of Tifton, GA; Joyce Holton of Tifton, GA; two brothers Johnny Goff of Tifton; David Goff and his wife Diane of Sylvester; several nieces and nephews.
