BOISTURE, THOMAS C., 79, of Little Ferry died on Friday, March 11, 2011. Beloved husband of 57 years to Dolores A. (nee Kenney). Loving father of Susan & her husband Jim Thompson, Debbie & her husband Arnold Johnson Jr., David & his wife Elizabeth, Nancy & her husband Joe McTighe, Michael & his wife Lisa and the late Tommy (1962) and Janet (1963). Devoted brother of Patricia Suzor and the late Daniel Boisture (2007). Adored grandfather of Melissa, David, Amanda, Molly, Chloe, Joseph, Shannon, Michael, Cameron and Matthew. Cherished great grandfather of Zoe, Abigail and Fiona.
Before retiring from the NY Giants following the 2000 NFL Draft, Tom was the former Vice President of Player Personnel. He was responsible for the team’s scouting and grading of college players. Prior to working for the Giants, Tom was a football scout for the New England Patriots, a football coach at the University of Tulsa, College of the Holy Cross, University of Houston, St. Ambrose HS and Austin Catholic HS. He played football at Mississippi State University and Holy Redeemer HS in Detroit.
Tom was an active and enthusiastic grandfather and fan to all his children and grandchildren’s sporting and recreational activities. For 10 years Tom and Dolores enjoyed their family at the Jersey Shore where they vacationed and developed their strong family bond and sense of community.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday from 12-2 and 7-9 PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret’s of Cortona RC Church, Little Ferry. Cremation will be private.
