Marie “Lorraine” Coughlan, 81, of Natick, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was predeceased by her beloved husband William, who died in 2008.
Lorraine was born in Waltham, MA, the daughter of the late William and Mary Aucoin. She was also predeceased by her brother George Aucoin. A resident of Natick for over fifty years, she leaves behind her loving children, Kathleen Croft and her husband Leo of Natick; James Coughlan and his wife Dianne of Woodstock, GA; Maureen O’Connell and her husband Shawn of Cumberland, R.I.; and Laura Woodring and her husband Donald of Medway. She was also the loving Nana of 10 grandchildren including Jason and Meghan Croft of Natick; Ryan, Courtney, and Shane Coughlan of Woodstock, GA; Kaitlin and Kelly O’Connell of Cumberland, R.I.; William, Brendan, and Conor Woodring of Medway.
Lorraine is best known for her generous heart and devotion to her many friends and acquaintances. She had the unique ability to make each person she met feel special. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in all of those whose lives she touched. The family would like to acknowledge how enriched the last year of Lorraine’s life was thanks to those who cared so compassionately for her including the staff at Traditions of Wayland, the staff at Mary Ann Morse, and most importantly, her dedicated CAN, Patty Hand.
The Reverend Geoffrey Deeker, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, Natick. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) NATICK.
