John F. Larson, 78, of Woburn, MA, died Friday March 11, 2011, at his daughter's home in Sandown, NH. He was born in Boston, MA on October 26, 1932, a son of the late Andrew and Flora (Allen) Larson. Mr. Larson grew up in Medford, MA, following graduation he served with the U.S. Army, where he was honorably discharged and he received a National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the Woburn Lodge of Masons, A.F. & A.M. Mr. Larson had worked for Millipore for many years and was also a carpenter. He liked to travel, read, go to shows in Boston, watch sports, especially hockey and enjoy his favorite food, lobster. Mr. Larson loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by a son; Kenneth J. Larson of Woburn and his children Jessica Larson and Kenneth Larson, his daughter; Cathy Hassard and her husband George of Sandown, NH, and their children Kristin Taft and her husband Bryce, Christopher Hassard, and Christine Hassard, his deceased son Paul's children, Kerrianne Larson-Ferola and her husband Andrew and Paul W. Larson, Jr., two great-grandchildren; Andrew James Ferola and Paul W. Larson III and by his daughter in law; Melissa Nelson-Bourassa. He was predeceased by a son; Paul W. Larson and by his three brothers.
Following cremation private family services will be held. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Derry is handling the arrangements.
