LEICESTER; Mrs. Katherine E. (Brown) LaPlante 67 , beloved mother, grandmother and sister died Friday Jan. 9 at UMASS Memorial-55 Lake Ave. North in Worcester. She leaves three sons and their families, David W. Peltier of Miami, Fl., Thomas R. and Laurie (Dorr) Peltier, Nicole, Griffin and Abrielle Peltier with whom she lived, Donald J. and Cathy (Martinelli) Peltier, Daniel and Timothy Peltier all of Leicester, a brother Donald Brown of Leicester and her sister in law, Jeanne Charbonneau of Worcester, several nieces and nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her first husband Donald R. Peltier and her second husband Normand LaPlante and a sister Susan (Brown) Monaco and a grandaughter Lydia May Peltier. Born and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of Charles and Susann (Ryan) Brown. She graduated from Ascension High School in Worcester and was very active in the town of Leicester, as a past member and President of the Leicester Mother's Club, member of the Leicester School Committee and active in the Leicester Little League. She was a member of St. Pius X Church. She was employed by Allmerica Insurance Co. for 20 years before retiring to Naples, Fl. in 1992. Although she was loved by many and will be missed dearly, the family requests that her funeral services and burial be private.
