Yves A. "Frenchie" Redureau, 76, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, U.S.A. died January 14, 2004 at Hallmark Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.
He son of the late Adrien and Eugenie (Roux) Redureau.
He was born in Nantes, France and had lived in New Bedford for the past 50 years.
He was formerly employed as a commercial fisherman for several years and survived the sinking of F/V Barbara and Gail. He later joined the Peace Corps, serving in Togo, West Africa for 2 years. He returned to New Bedford where he worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 40 years until his retirement. He presently was employed with Allstate Security.
In his spare time, he devoted his time for 13 years at the National Park Visitors Center in Downtown New Bedford.
Frenchie enjoyed traveling, and had visited all 50 of the United States and many countries all over the world. He loved children, horses and the bagpipes.
He served in the French Navy in Vietnam.
Survivors include a brother, Paul Redureau, and his wife Yvette, of Nantes, France; a niece, Celine Redureau of Nantes, France; a nephew, Sylvian Redureau of Nantes, France.
His Funeral Services will be private.
