Obituary

Segal, Selma, 95 of Swampscott and formerly of Lynn passed away on March 9, 2011. Selma was born in Providence, RI and resided in Lynn for most of her life. Most recently, she was a resident of Swampscott. Selma was educated in the Providence School System and a graduate of Hope High School. Selma was a long time bookkeeper for the Sears and Roebuck Company. She was a member of B’Nai Brith, Cong. A.A.A. Sfard and their sisterhood. Selma was a master at sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was also a member of the Golden Age Choral Group at the JCC in Marblehead.

Selma was the beloved wife of the late Melvin Segal. She was the loving mother of Nancy Diaz and her husband Gregory, Margee David and her husband Jack and the late Judith Levine. Selma was the loving grandmother of Mark, Naseck, Michael, Sebastian, Jeff, Preston, Joshua, Daniel, Matthew, Jonathan, Bethany and Sarah Grace. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Cary Sq., Chelsea on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Interment in Lynn. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Rhoda Morse following the interment until 3:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday 12:00 Noon until 5:00 PM at the home of Nancy and Gregory Diaz. Donations in her memory may be made to the J.R.C. 330 Paradise Rd. Swampscott, MA 01907 and the Kaplan Family Hospice House 78 Liberty St. Danvers, MA 01923.
