WEBSTER – Claire M. (Brisbois) Horan, 83, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester with her children at her side. Her husband of 58 years, Albert J. Horan, died in 2008.
She leaves a daughter, Colleen C., wife of Bruce Emery of Plymouth; 3 sons, Albert B. Horan and his wife Susan of Webster, Brian A. Horan and his wife Renee of Oxford, and Neil A. Horan of Dudley; 12 grandchildren, Lauren, wife of Ian Ratner, Erin, wife of Adam Nash, Edward Brodzinski, Christopher, Ryan, Katelyn and Kimberly Horan, Sean and Alan Lamothe, and Emily, Timothy and Kathryn Horan; 4 great grandchildren, Ava, James and Vivienne Ratner, and Addison Nash; a sister, Bernice Mansfield of Webster; a brother, Richard Brisbois of Somerset; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Gail F. Horan, by her son, Sean P. Horan, and by her brother, Emil P. Brisbois.
She was born and raised in Dudley, a daughter of Emil and Frances (David) Brisbois, and lived in Webster since 1952. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1944.
Mrs. Horan was a paraprofessional in the Webster School System for 31 years, first at Filmer School and then at Park Avenue Elementary School. She retired in 2000.
She was a member of Saint Louis Church.
The funeral will be held Monday, March 14, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. A calling hour will be from 8:15 to 9:15 AM Monday, March 14, in the funeral home.
