Obituary

Salem: David F. Bourgault, age 54 of Salem, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia (Hincman) Bourgault, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Leo and Therese (Gauthier) Bourgault. Dave worked in security and in personal security. In personal security he worked for a Saudi Princess and her family and during the presidential primaries in 1996, he worked for Lemar Alexander and Fred Thompson. He was a past reserve deputy sheriff for Essex County Motor Cycle Unit and a Mass. State Constable. Dave and Cindy were both former members of the Special Auxiliary Police Officer for the Town of Marblehead, as well as the Mass. V Chapter of the Blue Knights.

Together the couple belonged to the Danvers Fish & Game Club, and life members of the Harley Owners Group ‘HOG’ and the NRA. Dave was raised on the ocean and spent a good part of his childhood at the Salem Willows Yacht Club. Dave enjoyed woodworking and working around their home. He and Cindy had a great love of the ocean, the out-doors, boating, fishing, motor cycling, gardening and walking their beloved 4 legged companion Kodi at Forest River Park with all their dog walking friends. Dave had painstaking patience with Cindy in the never ending collecting of sea glass accompanied by Kodi throughout New England. The threesome spent many happy days in Isleboro, Maine. Dave will be remembered for his love of life, smile, sense of humor and his willingness to help others.

In addition to his wife Cindy, he is survived by a brother, Ronald Bourgault and his wife Kathleen of Danvers, his stepmother, Roberta 'Bobbi' Whittaker of Boxford, several nieces and nephews including, Monique Bourgault & Eric Bourgault both of Salem, Craig Marquis, Jr. of Danvers, Michelle LeBrun of Derry, NH, Alexander John Hincman, III of Danvers, 3 brothers-in-law, Craig Marquis, Sr., of Beverly, A. John Hincman, Jr. and his wife Susan of Danvers, Charles Hincman, Sr. and his wife Marlene of Salem as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Janice (Hincman) Marquis and a nephew, Christopher Marquis.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem. A period of visitation will precede the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
