Brother of Geneva Cashman; Jeanne Lawton, Lorraine Charlebois and Donald Cashman all of Brockton and Patricia Robichaud of E. Bridgewater and the late John H. Cashman.
Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 10am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in George’s memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 14 Page Terrace, Stoughton, MA 02072.
Obituary
George M. Cashman died Monday at home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. Born in Brockton, son of the late John H. and Beatrice (Poudrier) Cashman. He was a Graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1950 and he was a also a star pitcher for the Brockton High School and Legion Baseball teams . He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954. He lived in Abington for 32 years where he was a volunteer Little League coach and a member of the VFW Abington. He moved to Bridgewater six years ago. Mr. Cashman was employed by the local Telephone Companies from 1955 with New England Telepone to his retirement in 1990 from Nynex. He was an avid golfer, with three holes-in-ones; and he was a member of the Brockton Country Club for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife Celia R. (Perrault) Cashman, three daughters, Karen M. Botelho of Rockland; Susan C. Frazier of E. Bridgewater; Cheryl A. Jasper of Bridgewater, three sons, Timothy P. Cashman; Kevin F. Cashman and Sean H. Cashman all of Bridgewater, four sisters, Geneva Cashman; Jeanne Lawton and Lorraine Charlebois all of Brockton, Patricia Robichaud of E. Bridgewater and a brother Donald Cashman of Brockton, 14 grandchildren and one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
