SALEM, NH - George F. McInnis, Jr. 85 of Salem, NH and formerly of Arlington, MA died unexpectedly Tuesday March 8, 2011 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
Born in East Boston, he was the son of George and Gertrude (Soule) McInnis and was a graduate of Boston English High School. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. For more than 40 years he was a field investigator with DES in Boston, MA. He attended St. Monica’s Church in Methuen. He enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time at the library and doing crossword puzzles.
He leaves his wife of 57 years Beatrice T. (Beaulieu) McInnis of Salem, NH. His children Paul F. McInnis and his wife Alice of Windham, NH and Jeannine M. Della Grotte and her husband John of Pelham, NH.
Four grandsons Paul, Sean and Kevin Della Grotte and David McInnis.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorials can be made in George’s name to St. Monica’s Church 214 Lawrence St. Methuen, MA 01844. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:00a.m. in St. Monica’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH.
