Obituary

BRADFORD: William A. Daignault, Jr. 81, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in the Merrimack Valley Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Marcelle A. (Cox) Daignault who died in 2009. They shared nearly sixty years of marriage.
Born in Haverhill on December 31, 1929, he was the son of the late William A. and Angeline (Strickland) Daignault. A lifelong resident of Bradford, he was a student at the Sacred Hearts Grammar School and part of the first graduating class. He also was a graduate of Haverhill High School class of 1949.
William was employed as a truck driver for Clover Leaf Dairy for many years. He then spent the latter part of his career in the shipping and receiving department at Foss Manufacturing until his retirement. William enjoyed spending a lot of time at Silsby Farm in Bradford over the years.
He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Charlene Bombard of Salisbury, Lucille and Joseph Stachulski of Haverhill and Marcelle and Donald Soini of Georgetown, a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Deborah Daignault of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, thirteen grandchildren, Michael Bombard, Laurie Zywiak, Jay Stachulski, Kristen Moore, Lisa Chase, Michelle Breeze, Jennifer and Christina Soini, Ashley Skidmore and Tara, Heather, Bobi and Allysa McBride, eighteen great-grandchildren, two brothers, Rodney Daignault and Donald and his wife, Brenda Daignault, four sisters, Dorothy and her husband, Alan Sanville, Romaine Ingham, Diane Meuse and Marlene Hurley, a brother-in-law, Bernard and his wife, Marie Cox and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Lucile R. Daignault, two sons, William Daignault, III and Paul M. Daignault, and a granddaughter, Sara Havolic.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday in the Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill from 4 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 48 So. Chestnut St., Bradford, MA 01835. Interment will be held in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Haverhill.
