Agostino “Gus” Cavaliere, of Medford, died peacefully Sunday at his daughter’s home. He was 88.
Born in Youngstown, OH, he was the son of the late Antonio and the late Francesca (Colucci) Cavaliere. Gus was raised in Avellino, Italy after the death of his mother and returned to the United States as a young man. In Everett, he owned and operated Cavaliere Deli and Produce on Chelsea St. He operated the shop until his retirement nearly 10 years ago.
The beloved husband of Flora (Montagna) Cavaliere, he was a devoted father to Joann Turco and her husband Gaetano and Frances Cavaliere all of Medford. He was a loving grandfather of Gregory and Gina Turco. He was a dear brother to Rose Picciocchi of Medford, Paul Cavalier of OH and the late Francesco Cavaliero.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, March 12th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 9. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
