MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA: Rosemary “Bunny” (Edington) Porter, 85, of The Plains, died peacefully Thursday morning, March 3, 2011 at the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Gloucester. She was the wife of John H. Porter.
Born in Boston on March 31, 1925, she was the daughter of Stuart and Mildred (Scannell) Edington and was known as "Bunny" by family and friends.
She had resided in Manchester-by-the-Sea for many years before moving to Fort Lauderdale. Recently she and her husband returned to live in Manchester.
Bunny was a long-time member of the Manchester Bath & Tennis Club, where she enjoyed the beach, playing tennis, swimming, and socializing with family and friends.
In addition to her husband of forty-two years, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James & Elise Dudley; two grandchildren, Jennifer Dudley and Liza Dudley; her sister, Jayne Coolidge Robbins; her brother Frederick Edington; and stepsons, Jack, Dick, and Bob Porter. She was also predeceased by her brother Scott Edington.
Funeral services will be held privately in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Manchester-by-the-Sea.
