WORCESTER-Richard O. Moore, Sr., 86, of Worcester died Sunday, March 6th at home. He leaves his wife of 66 years, Helen (Shannon) Moore; four sons, Richard O. Moore, Jr., Michael Moore and his wife Mary Ellen and Daniel Moore all of Worcester and Thomas Moore and his wife Kathy of Austin, TX; four daughters, Paula Dorn, Jayne Arsenault and Martha Senosk and her husband Troy all of Worcester; four brothers, Robert Moore of RI, Raymond Moore of Charlton, Edward Moore and William Moore both of Worcester; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Catherine Moore and a sister, Agnes O’Leary.
He was born in Worcester, son of Edwin and Esther (Hamrin) Moore. Richard was custodian for the Worcester Public Schools for 34 years, retiring in 1980. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard serving during WWII. Mr. Moore was a member of St. Paul’s Cathedral and was a square dancer with the triple C squares in Worcester.
The funeral is Thursday, March 10th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Paul’s Cathedral, 38 High Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, March 9th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
