Gertrude (Kades) Caro, 89, of Wrentham died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Pond Home in Wrentham. She was the wife of Werner Caro who died in 1989.
Born in Boston on June 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late David and Celia (Leverant) Kades.
Mrs. Caro was a resident of the Pond Home in Wrentham for the past 5 years and formerly resided in Hyde Park.
Before her retirement she worked as a secretary at CIGNA in Boston for many years.
Mrs. Caro was an active member of Mil Par Seniors and was the former membership chairperson.
She enjoyed traveling and loved animals.
She is survived by her caregivers and dear friends John and Patricia Carroll of Franklin and the caring staff - especially her beloved nurse Jean "Dottie" Sweeney - of the Pond Home in Wrentham.
Graveside services will be held in the Immigrants Mutual Aid Society, Roxbury Lodge Cemetery, Baker St. in West Roxbury on Wednesday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Pond Home, 289 East St., Wrentham, MA 02093.
