WEBSTER –Stasia V. Sabaj, 89, formerly of Fifth Avenue, died Sunday, January 11, in Webster Manor.
She leaves 2 brothers, Benny and Frank Sabaj, both of Webster; 4 sisters, Lena Swierzbin, Helen Kralik and Dorothy Szymczak, all of Webster, and Rita Kubik of Dudley; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Henry and Charles Sabaj, and a sister Josephine Tadla.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of Felix and Veronica (Mrzyglod) Sabaj, and lived here all her life.
She was an assembler at the former Webster Spring Co. In Oxford for over 30 years before retiring in 1979. She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and its Sacred Heart Society, and a former member of the Friends of Saint Joseph. She was an excellent baker and an accomplished seamstress.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, January 14, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 13, in the funeral home.
