Americo F. “Rico” Ruocco, of Famouth and formerly of Medford died at the Cape Cod Hospital on March 3rd. He was 81. Born and raised in Boston’s West End he was the son of the late Francesco and Angelina (Vadaro) Ruocco. After high school he enlisted in the US Army and served in Korea during the Korean War. A chef by trade, Rico worked with his family at their Falmouth Restaurant, the Pushcart. A kind and thoughtful man, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was a devoted father to Nicole Ruocco–Ravenscroft of Florida, dear brother of Samuel Rocco of Medford, Carmella Grassia of Medford, Pasquale Ruocco of Boston, the late Joe and Mary Rocco and Ursula Rocco-Pino. He also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, March 7th at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 - 8.
