Obituary

Lenora A. (Correia) Cormier, 91, of Dartmouth died peacefully on Tuesday March 1, 2011. She was the wife of the late Louis E. Cormier.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary G. (Souza) Correia, she lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth for most of her life.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

Mrs. Cormier was employed by the former New Bedford Institution for Savings for 40 years until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Mary's Ladies Guild and the Portuguese-American Civic League. She had been a volunteer at the Southworth Library in Dartmouth.

Survivors include her beloved daughter, Ann Marie Mickells and her husband Donald of Duxbury; her sister, Mary C. Marshall of New Bedford; her sister-in-law, Mary "Renie" Correia of Dartmouth; and many nieces, nephews, good neighbors and friends.

She was the sister of the late Edmund F. Currier, Joseph E. Correia, Jr., and Matilda Sewares Medeiros.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 3-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Remembrances may be made to Catholic Relief Services, P.O.
