Betty Ree Sharp Stark, 71, died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Batesville, MS. She was born to the late Charlie Wayne and Lillie Belle Suell Sharp in Lafayette County, MS and worked for 33 years as a seamstress at Big Yank Corp. in Water Valley. Betty was a member of First Christian Church, a member of the Ladies’ Circle, and a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader. She loved cooking, feeding, and serving others. She played cards each week with a close group of friends, and enjoyed working in her flower garden.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Services will be Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 2 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. David Freeman serving as minister. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery with Jonathan Stark, Joshua Stark, Zack Melton, Jackie Beene, Scott Beene, Barry Sharp, Scott Sharp, and Michael Stark serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be George Lambert, Travis Sharp, Gary Bratton, Barney Sharp, and Billy Stark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Stark, Sr.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Melton (James) of Batesville, MS; two sons, Troy Stark, Jr. (Jo) of Tula, MS and Ronnie Stark (Lorraine) of Water Valley, MS; four sisters, Patsy Sharp, Jackie Sharp, and Martha Crocker, all of Tula, MS, and Wanda Lambert of Water Valley, MS; two brothers, Barney Sharp of Tula, MS and Travis Sharp of Water Valley, MS; five grandchildren, Jonathan Stark, Joshua Stark, Zack Melton, Danielle Berry, and Genna Berry; and one great grandchild, Brian Stark.
