Oscar J. Michaud, 95, of Worcester, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at UMMMC, surrounded by his loving children.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Louise E. (Frappier). Oscar is survived by his son, Paul and wife Eileen of Lancaster, his three daughters, Anne Peepas and husband Franklin of Charlton, Elizabeth Callahan and partner William Critchley, Mary Ressler and husband Joseph Michael all of Rutland. Nine grandchildren, Roland Peepas and his wife Wanda, Jennifer Peepas and Jason Peepas and his wife Debra, Lauren Callahan, Matthew Michaud and wife Stephanie, Emily Michaud, Lisa (Ressler) Morin and husband Nicholas, Christine (Ressler) Jean and husband Robert Jr., Joseph Ressler and fiancé Kristi Evans and five great grandchildren, Mary, Angela, Abigail, Tyler and Maddison who all brought him great joy and love. He is also survived by his two sisters, Roseanna Hmura and Idamay Arsenault and husband Gerard and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by nine sisters and three brothers.
Oscar was born in Waterville, ME, the son of Gabriel and Anna (LeBrasseur) Michaud.
He was a Chief Warrant Officer, U.S. Army Ret., and veteran of WWII and Korean War. A graduate of CID (Criminal Investigative Division) Agent schools in Georgia, Germany and Austria, he served his country for 20 years and was responsible for the resolutions of many WWII and post war Counter Intelligence cases.
After retiring from the military he worked at Harrington Richardson Co., and O’Coin’s Furniture and Appliance store.
He was a member of the Retired Officers Association, an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree and Life Member of the Main South American Legion.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 5th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Burial with military honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are on Friday, March 4th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
