Mrs. Carol Jean Benton Moore, age 64, of King, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. She was born in Forsyth County on March 23, 1946 to the late Clenton Lester and Irene Denny Benton. Mrs. Moore worked as a N.C. Baptist Nurse Assistant as a In Home Care Worker, loved to cook for her family, and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Moore is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Kimberly (Tommy) Moore Hall of Walnut Cove and Kerrie (Raymond) Moore Dutton of King; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth (Mendy) Marion Moore Jr., of Pinnacle; eight grandchildren, CPL. Taylor Hall, Haileigh Hall, Triston Dutton, Mason Dutton, Cortlen Dutton, Sydney Dutton, Jordan Moore, Jaden Moore; five sisters and brother-in-laws, Jo (Wilson) Scott of Pilot Mountain, Dot (Arno) Key of King, Frances (Denis) Deveaux of King, June (Ted) Smith of King and Rita (Ron) Manuel, of Madison, NC, two brothers and sister-in laws, Ray Benton of King and Ira (Sheila) Benton of Washington State; two sister-in-laws, Nell Benton of King and Dorothy Benton, of Pinnacle; several special nieces and nephews, and special friends, Ronnie and Ann Ervin and family of King. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, C.L. Benton, Jr. and David Benton. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Cox-Needham Chapel in Pilot Mountain at 3:00 P.M with the Pastor Eddie Honeycutt officiating with interment to follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. before the funeral service.
