Mary C. Capone, 95, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 2, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Attleboro.
Born in Mansfield, MA on July 5, 1915, she was a loving and devoted daughter of the late Vincenzo and Nunzia (Campano) Capone.
Mary grew up and was educated in Mansfield, and was a graduate of Mansfield High School. A retired Certified Occupational Therapist, Miss Capone had been employed at the former Foxboro State Hospital for 28 years prior to her retirement in 1980.
A lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Mary was also a former member of the Catholic Woman’s Club at St. Mary’s Church.
Mary’s hobbies included ceramics, painting and gardening. When younger she gave viola and piano lessons at her home in Mansfield and enjoyed entertaining her patients at the Foxboro State Hospital. Mary had a special place in her heart for animals and will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity shown to others.
The dear sister of the late Louise Capone, she is also survived by several cousins in Massachusetts as well as in other states.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday March 8th at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
