Sadie P. Sayward, 92, formerly of 8 Summer St. died January 10, 2004 at the St. Francis Home, where she had resided since 1997. She was born in Belmont on January 2, 1912, the daughter of Frank and Delphine (Charest) Brake. She was raised in Belmont and has resided in Laconia for the past 38 years.
Prior to her retirement Cormier Hosiery Mills had employed her for many years as a finisher. She was the widow of Everett Sayward, who died in 1976.
Mrs. Sayward was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia and was a former member of the Laconia Senior Citizens. She was an avid walker for many years.
Family members include three grandsons, George Turner of Barnstead, Peter Turner of Texarkana, AR and Allen Turner of Concord; five great grandchildren; seven great, great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Jessie LaFlamme of Oxford MA; nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Pauline Dame in 1988.
Calling hours were on Friday in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St. on Saturday at 11 AM. Rev. Gary J. Kosmowski,, pastor was the celebrant. Spring burial will be in Union Cemetery. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber were the funeral directors.
