Donna M. Carson, 78, of Delavan, formerly of Washington, IL passed away at Heartland of Riverview in East Peoria Monday Feb 28, 2011 after a long illness of Parkinson Disease.
She was born on Feb 13, 1933 in Knoxville, IL the daughter of George and Isabel (Rench) Evans. She married George W. Carson on Nov 11, 1951 at the First Baptist Church in Canton, IL.
Surviving is her husband of Delavan, one daughter Karen M. Harmon of Delavan, and one son George “Mike” (Debbie) Carson of Beaumont, TX. Also surviving are two grandsons Daniel Sawyer of Morton, IL and Michael (Kortney) Sawyer of Delavan. Three adopted step grandchildren, Teresa Short of Tucson, AZ Scott (Heather) Harmon of Houston, TX and Steven Harmon of Lewiston, IL. Three great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren also survive her. Her parents, two brothers Fred and Danny Evans, preceded her in death.
She was a 1951 graduate of Canton High School. Donna enjoyed doing crafts and craft shows while traveling the United States and Canada six months a year for 17 years. She also enjoyed doing craft shows in Tucson the 22 years she lived there. She was best known for candy at Christmas time (selling 500lbs of peanut brittle one year).
Cremation rites have been accorded with no services scheduled. Her remains will be scattered at a later date in Arizona.
