SALEM- Blanche H. (Drabinowicz) Cecelski, formerly of Salem, wife of the late Arthur Z. Cecelski, a past Union Manager of Leather Workers Local #21 in Peabody, entered peacefully into rest on Saturday evening, January 10, 2004 in the Rosewood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Peabody.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Jerez and Agatha (Zdanowicz) Drabinowicz. A lifelong resident of Salem until moving to Peabody in the early 1990's, she was an active parishioner of the St. John the Baptist Polish Church, Salem, a member of the Salem Council on Aging and the House of Seven Gables Settlement Association.
Mrs Cecelski is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Eleanore V. and John L. Birmingham of Peabody, four grandchildren, Sean M. and his wife, Kimberly Birmingham of Danvers, Brian A. and his wife Terri Birmingham of Peabody, Mark S. and his wife Kim Cecelski of Springfield, Virginia, David A. Cecelski of Washington, DC, six great grandchildren, Molly and Megan Birmingham of Danvers, Conor and Reilly Birmingham of Peabody, Rachel and Stefan Cecelski of Springfield, Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son and daughter-in-law, Arthur R. and Dorothy (Duda) Cecelski, and four brothers, John Drabinowicz, Stanley Drabinowicz, Allen Drabinowicz and Ensign Francis Drabinowicz who was killed during WWII in the submarine service in the Mediterranean Sea.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2004, at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by funeral Mass at 10 am at the St John The Baptist Church, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday, 4 to 7 pm. Burial is in St Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Please omit flowers.
