John Morse, age 72, of River Road, Pawcatuck, died Tuesday, March 1st at his home.
He is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Morse of New York, and her mother, Cynthia Shanley of Mystic; his companion, Kathy Point of Pawcatuck; his sister Carol Spawn of Philadelphia; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Susan Eliason of Warren, RI.
John was a skilled sign painter and carver, a longtime employee of Electric Boat, and a proud submarine veteran. He served aboard the USS Darter.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at Han's Dynasty Restaurant, 20 Mechanic Street in Pawcatuck on March 19th from 1pm to 3pm. A private scattering ceremony will precede the celebration.
Directions to the Restaurant: From Mystic/Stonington, turn right off Route 1 (or from Westerly, turn left) onto Mechanic Street; the restaurant is on the left. Parking is available in the two lots adjacent to the right of the restaurant, as well as in the Pawcatuck public lot behind C.C. O'Brien's Sports Bar.
