Obituary

Lee Allen Busroe, 85, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 at Audubon Hospital.

He was born in Louisville, KY to Willard & Sarah J. (Higdon) Busroe.

Lee was self-employed in newspaper sales for the Courier-Journal and Louisville Times at Ft. Knox, KY.

He was a longtime member of the Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church and was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran, serving as a ball turret gunner on a B-24. His crew was shot down behind enemy lines and was rescued by Marshal Tito's partisans.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and his wife of 50 years, Mary Norine (Heller) Busroe.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years in June, Joyce (Gibson) Busroe; his daughters, Janet Gream (Larry) and Mary Jane Cherry (Stephen); a granddaughter; Heather Gream; a step daughter; Tamela Dudding (Ken); and stepson, Bill Parker II; three step-grandsons; and a sister, Mary Rose Bielman.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Thursday March 3, 2011 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 - 8 PM.
