Obituary

SPENCER: Leslie L. Swindell 91, of Hastings Rd., died Saturday, Feb. 26 at The Meadows of Leicester.

He leaves a son Craig A. Swindell of Rochdale, two daughters Merrilee Allen and her husband Wayne of Centerville, South Dakota, and Janice Swindell of Spencer, two grandchildren Christopher Sprague of SanFrancisco, and Jessica Sprague of Dixmont, Me.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of John L. and Florence A. (Burdick) Swindell. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School and later served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corps in England, where he was a crew chief in charge of repairs on planes returning from bombing in Germany.

Leslie was a member of the Spencer Lodge of Masons, AF & AM, and the Spencer H.A.M. Radio Club.

He was a pattern maker at Curtis & Marble, previously he worked at Crompton & Knowles Corp. and later Jamesbury Corp. all in Worcester, where he made one of a kind electronics,before retiring in 1974.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 5, from 3 to 5p.m. in the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St. Leicester. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date and at a time to be announced in the Unitarian Church of Leicester. Burial will also be at the convenience of the family in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. Please omit flowers, contributions may be made to the Unitarian Church, P.O. Box 342, Rochdale, Ma. 01542.
