Stephen R. May, 63, of Little Compton, RI died unexpectedly, Monday, February 28, 2011 at St. Anne’s Hospital, Fall River. He was the husband of Josephine (Fagundes) May.
Born in Providence, RI, son of the late Raymond and Henrietta (Gillespie) May, he had lived in Little Compton for the past 30 years. He was a truck driver for Teamsters Local 25 of Boston. Mr. May was a Communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton. He loved NASCAR and was a NASCAR crew chief for various racing teams including Geoff Bodine’s team. He also enjoyed Ham Radio and a good cigar.
Including his wife, survivors include 2 sons: Mark A. Camara of Swansea and Joseph D. Camara of Somerset; a daughter: Cynthia A. Cook of Little Compton; sister: Carol Serbst and her son Andrew Serbst of Bristol; 4 grandchildren: Alicia, Michael, Joseph and Steven; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, March 5, 2011 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours Friday 5 – 8 P.M.
Interment in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton.
