TEWKSBURY: Josephine E. (Scaduto) Guisto, age 90, a resident of Tewksbury for 23 years, most recently of the Delaney Drive Housing Community, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell.
She was the beloved wife of Pasquale "Pat" Guisto, who passed away on May 26, 1988.
Born in Boston on July 25, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe Scaduto and the late Angelina (Decidue) Scaduto.
Josephine was raised in the Dorchester area of Boston and attended Boston schools.
Prior to her retirement , she was employed for 20 years, as a hairdresser by the Jordan Marsh Company, formerly at the Downtown Crossing area of Boston.
Mrs. Guisto resided in East Boston for over 40 years until moving to Tewksbury in 1988.
Josephine was a communicant of St. Williams Parish of Tewksbury. In addition, she was a former member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club.
Mrs. Guisto enjoyed dancing, music, fashion and the theatre.
She is survived by one son, Frank J. Guisto and his wife Aggie of Naples, FL; one daughter, Terry J. Ivers and her fiance, Frederick Smith of Lowell; one sister, Terry Reardon of Hudson; four grandchildren, Tammy Aspell, Doug Ivers, Lisa Jimenez, and Danielle Guisto; also three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Josephine was the sister of the late Joseph Scaduto, Mary Oliveri, Margaret Robaczewski, John Scaduto, Fannie Camplese, Jenny Driscoll, Ned Scaduto and Angie Gomes.
Calling hours Thursday, March 3, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Friday, March 4, at 10:30 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. At the request of the family kindly Omit Flowers.
