Marion L. McCarthy, 90, passed away on February 27th, 2011. She was born in Everett on January 17th, 1921 to her parents James and Lila (Gardner) Farraher. Marion was raised and educated in Malden and is a graduate of Cheverus High School. She spent most of her adult life living on Charles Street in Malden and has been a resident of Longwood Place in Reading for the past few years. Marion was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of and spending quality time with her family. She is survived by her children; Paula Chunias and her husband Ted of Andover, Brian McCarthy and his wife Karen of Andover, John Kevin McCarthy and his wife Patricia of Reading and Gayle Corning and her husband James of Beverly; and by her sister’s in law; Mary Sheehan of Medford, Irene McCarthy of Malden and Margaret McCarthy of Malden. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband John J. McCarthy and by her siblings John Farraher, Catherine Kendall, Helen Philbrook, Matthew Farraher and Paul Farraher. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday March 2nd at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the Mass on Wednesday only.
