Carmine F. Leo, of Burlington, formerly of Medford, died Sunday at Sunrise Nursing Center in the company of his loving family. He was 87.
Carmine was born and raised in Boston’s North End, the son of the late Vincenzo and Lucy Leo. A Medford resident for nearly 20 years before he moved his family to Burlington, Carmine owned and operated Ladd’s Beauty Supply Company until his retirement in 2002. With determination and a strong work ethic, Carmine built his Woburn and Lowell locations into solid and respected businesses. A member of Burlington’s Knights of Columbus, Carmine was devoted to his family and friends.
The beloved husband of Agnes (Gaeta) Leo, he was a devoted father to Sharon Devlin of Billerica and her late husband Robert, Stephen Leo and his wife Mary of N. Reading, Susan Norris and her husband William of N. Andover and the late Donna Leo. He was a loving grandfather to Laura and Kathleen Devlin, Neil Leo, Benjamin and Ryan Norris. He was also the dear brother of Anthony Leo of Stoneham, the late Edith Vento and Daniel and Rocco Leo.
Relatives and friends may gather at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday from 4 thru 8 PM and again, Thursday, March 3rd at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
