Obituary

Jean “Eddie” Gagnon, 89, died peacefully February 27, 2011 at home surrounded by friends, family and his beloved dog Coco.
He was born in Manchester on December 11, 1921 and attended local schools. He was a WWII veteran having served in the 29th infantry regiment/airborne.
Returning from the War, he worked in the Manchester shoe mills, then owned and operated a hardware store. In his later years, he served as a deputy sheriff for Hillsborough County.
In his long life, Eddie had many interests. But his most passionate interest was playing pool at which he excelled. He played every day until just recently. You could also find him watching Westerns in black and white at home anytime you’d drop in.
He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years Katherine (Steckowych) Gagnon in 2010.
IN HIS LIFE: Family members include Paul and Joan Steckowych of Candia, Peter and Terry Steckowych of Goffstown, and Ann Steckowych Soucy of Manchester; several nephews and nieces. He also leaves behind his good friends Bob and Lorraine Roy who were considered family to him.
Burial with military honors was held on Thursday, March 3, 2011 in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
