Luella V. Scheirer age 77 of Metamora, Illinois passed away at 5:25pm Friday Feb.25, 2011 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She was born May 29, 1933 in Worth Twp. Woodford County, Illinois to George A. and Catherine E. (Kneip) Noe. She married William A. Scheirer on Sept. 15, 1956 at St. Mary’s of Lourdes Catholic Church in Metamora. He survives.
Surviving is one sister, Josephine Stalzer of Madison, South Dakota, and four brothers, Anthony (Sheila) Noe of Marquette Heights, Melvin Noe of Peoria, Raymond (Phyllis) Noe of Washington, and Ralph (Carol) Noe of Loami, IL, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Elmer, Edwin, George, Rudy, and Leo.
Luella was a homemaker, and had worked for Fandel’s Hardware in Metamora for 12 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora, and the Altar & Rosary Society, and was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary. Luella was a excellent cook and baker, and loved playing cards with her brothers. She and her husband Bill were well known for making Christmas cookies for friends and family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am Tuesday March 1, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora with the Father Don Roszkowski officiating. Visitation will be Monday From 4pm until 7pm at the Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Recitation of the Rosary at 3:30pm. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Metamora.
