REDDEN - On Monday, February 28, 2011, God called his Angel on Earth, Mabel A. Witt Redden, to join Him in His Heavenly Kingdom for eternity.
Mabel was born on November 6, 1932 to Alfred L. and Elzie M. Witt in Alachua, Florida. She lived most of her life in Jacksonville, Callahan and Yulee, Florida where she made many friends and developed her church family. She worked faithfully for A & P and Winn Dixie grocery chains for almost 40 years.
Mabel loved maintaining her home, entertaining her family, especially the grandchildren, traveling with her husband, Bill, and serving God and her church.
Mabel is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bill, the love and strength of her life, as well as her son, Dan (Angie) Redden of Neptune Beach, daughters Kay Zettler of Rincon, GA and Vickie Buckner of Jacksonville, FL; brothers Ed Witt, Wayne (Flo) Witt, and Fred Witt; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; plus many other relatives in Florida, in-laws in Illinois, friends and church family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at Yulee Baptist Church with Reverends Doug Sides and Thomas S. Keisler, Jr. officiating followed by a celebration of food and fellowship on the church grounds. After the reception the funeral will then process to Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville for interment in the family burial estate.
The family will received friends from 6 until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Green Pine Funeral Home.
