Obituary

Deacon James M. Crump III 74, of Natick , surrounded by his loving family died of cancer, Saturday February 26, 2011 at the Metro West Hospital in Natick.He was the beloved husband of M. Lee (Sheridan) Crump with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.A Natick resident for 44 years he was born in East Orange NJ the son of the late James M Jr and Kathryn (Miller) Crump. Ordained a Permanent Deacon in the second Diaconate class in May 1977, he was assigned to St Patricks in Natick and St Zepherin's in Wayland. He Ministered in Marriage Prep, CCD, Prayer Group, Baptismal Prep, visiting nursing homes and interacting with and sharing with parishoners his prayerful life with theirs. He attended Seton Hall in East Orange NJ for three years and graduated High School from Elmira Free Academy in 1954. Mr. Crump worked at Westinghouse in Elmira before enlisting in the United States Air Force, serving for 4 years was stationed at Biloxi MS, Haskin Air Force Base ,Crete,and Westover Air Force Base.He was employed as a chemical engineer at RCA in Somerville NJ, Veritec in Springfield NJ, NASA in Cambridge, and Fenwal Electric in Framingham. Jim later worked at Natick School High School as a Computer Assistant while at the same time his wife Lee taught Child Devopment. They both appreciated the student comments of "There goes True Love" as they passed each other in the hallways. In 1985 he graduated from Framingham State College with Honors ,the first in his family to recieve a college degree. He enjoyed his hobbies of ham radio, photography, computers, trains, and his many years with his family in NY and MA. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son Mark Thomas Crump and his wife Michelle of Mendon, one sister Katherine Kazacos and her husband Doug of Camillus NY,and their children Tracey Bishop of FL, Christopher Kazacos of NYC, his brother-in-law Jack Sheridan and his wife Joanne of OK. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday March 2, at 9:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street,at Natick Common ,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patricks Church at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Interment St Patrick Cemetery.
