Judith A. Hoover Brown, 65

Judith "Judy" Ann Hoover Brown, 65, of Lawrence, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her adoring family on February 21, 2011, after a long illness.

Born in Lawrence to the late James T. Hoover, Jr., of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and the late Stephanie M. (Pelczar) Van Dyke of Lawrence, Judy grew up in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Temple, Texas. She graduated from Temple High School and received a B.S. in Business from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas.

Judy worked for a number of years at Lawrence General Hospital as a Purchasing Manager and ended her career at Schneider Automation as a Contract Specialist. Judy also worked as a Mary Kay Consultant for several years. She was a passionate dog lover, an avid reader, loved working crossword puzzles, enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.

Judy leaves behind her beloved daughters, Reagan Brown of Jackson Heights, NY, and Rebecca Brown of Lawrence, MA, as well as Rebecca's partner, Rey Pagan, and their daughter, Reyna Pagan, and her granddog, Sophina; her brother, John Van Dyke of Lawrence and his children Lauren and Matthew Van Dyke; her sister-in-law Cheryl Van Dyke; her sister, Karen Van Dyke and her husband Jeffrey Freedman of San Diego, CA; her brother, J. David Hoover and his wife Kathy of Murfreesboro, TN; her sister, Lisa Pirtle and her husband Danny of Murfreesboro, TN; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved dog of 17 years, Chauncey.

ARRANGEMENTS: The family will hold a private celebration of Judy's life for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Judy's memory to Salem Animal Rescue League, 4 SARL Dr., Salem, NH 03079 (www.sarl-nh.org).
