Noreen R. (Mahoney) Muscarella, a 53 year resident of Charlestown, died on Friday, February 25, 2011 at her home in Charlestown following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 75 years old.
Noreen was born in Boston on October 3, 1935 to the late Maurice and Helen (Riley) Mahoney. She grew up in Roxbury where she attended Mission Church Parochial School and graduated from Mission High School. She worked as a Claims Processor with Health and Welfare for the Teamsters Union Local # 25 in Charlestown for over 38 years and retired several years ago. Most of all, Noreen was a homemaker, taking care of her husband along with their 5 daughters and their families.
Noreen is the beloved wife of 53 years to Louis V. Muscarella. She is the devoted mother of Debbie Fitzgerald and her husband Leo of Florida, Lois MacIntyre and her husband Joe of Winthrop, Carole Gosselin and her husband Gary of East Boston, Teri Doherty and her husband Roger of Charlestown and Tracy Scolari and her husband Louiz of Boston. She is the loving Nana to 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Thomas Mahoney of Holliston and the late Helen "Marie" Mahoney, Dorothy Hanbury and John Mahoney. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Noreen's Funeral on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 10 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 a.m. Cremation will take place following her funeral mass. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 2 to 6 p.m.
