NASHUA, NH: Ruth (Bolton) St. Onge, age 79, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at the Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare Center in Nashua.
She was the wife of the late Norman E. St. Onge who died December 27, 2003.
Born in Lowell, Mass on March 28, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William and May (Hutchinson) Bolton.
Mrs. St. Onge was raised on the former Bolton family farm in West Tewksbury, Mass. She attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury High School.
Mrs. St. Onge was a resident of Chelmsford since 1955 and moved to North Chelmsford in 1995.
While living in Tewksbury she attended St. William’s Parish. Mrs. St. Onge was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford and previously attended St. Mary’s Church of Chelmsford.
She enjoyed sewing, baking, knitting and playing bingo.
She is survived by 3 sons; Edward N. St. Onge and his wife Sharon of Nashua, NH, Richard St. Onge and his wife Denise of Dunn, NC and Steven St. Onge of Derry, NH; 5 daughters; Linda St. Onge of Wilton, NH, Nancy J. Monkiewicz and her husband Ray of Ipswich, Eleanor Hedlund and her friend Kevin Cody of Chelmsford, Norma L. Lucontoni and her husband James of Chelmsford and Susan Dulac and her friend Robert Cartledge of Nashua, NH; 1 brother; Richard “Dick” Bolton and his wife Rita of Orange County, CA; 1 sister; Dorothy Cathcart of Tewksbury; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mrs. St. Onge was the sister of the late Mildred Shanks, Olive Parkhurst, Evelyn Damon, Catherine Larsen, Beatrice Chapman, Abigail Olson, William, Bert, Robert, Clifford and Donald Bolton.
Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, 16 LEE ST., TEWKSBURY. Funeral Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home. Funeral Mass Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Burial at Tewksbury Cemetery.
