Bertha Blanche (Monjeau) Lariviere died peacefully after a brief illness at Mt. St. Rita' s Medical Center in Cumberland on February 25, 2011. She was the wife of the late Joseph Raoul (Ralph) Lariviere. Born in New Bedford MA, she was the daughter of the late Hormidas and Mary (Hebert) Monjeau. Before returning to Woonsocket, she was an inspector for Quantum Electronics in Wallingford, CT for ten years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Holy Family Christian Group, St. Joseph Sr. Citizens, St. Johns Sr. Citizen. and the RSVP Choral.
Mrs. Lariviere is survived by a son Raymond E. Lariviere and his wife Carmel Anne of Westfield, MA, a daughter Janice Lariviere and her husband Gordon O'Keef of Nashua, NH, a daughter-in-law Norma E. Lariviere of Cumberland, four grandchildren, Linda (Lariviere) Liljeberg, David Lariviere, Michael Lariviere, and great-grandchildren Calle, Jenna, and Logan Liljeberg. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Lariviere and a grandson, Brian Lariviere.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Church, South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Sunday 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to Mt St. Rita Medical Center ,15 Sumner Brown Rd. Cumberland, RI would be appreciated.
